"Don't touch the they are super high in calories and fat" some folk cry.
Yet in the other camp, when eaten in moderation as all things should, people rave about the health benefits of nuts.
Yes, nuts are high in calories when eaten in great bulk, but who does that? A handful to snack on is fine and won't make you balloon.
Nuts are high in protein which gives your body vital energy to keep you on top form through the day. Also nuts are jam-packed with vitamins and minerals which give us strong bones, fresh skin, happy hearts and many other body boosting qualities.
As for the fat content, nuts are a great source of the essential healthy fats which help with our bodies metabolism rather than piling on the pounds, and nuts keep us fuller for longer which means less chance of over-eating.
The bad form that nuts can come in are the overly salted variety that sit in those little dishes at bars or in pubs. Not only do they cost a fortune to nibble at but there is some awful statement about how they have traces of various bodily deposits which is so yucky I don't want to say anymore on the matter.
Of course there is also the category of people who are highly allergic to nuts; life-threatening illness are not fun, this group are allowed to hate nuts.
Nuts are good; simple.
